Thank You, 2018
Updated: Dec 9, 2019
For me, 2018 has definitely been a year to remember. My best friend brought a gorgeous little man into the world (a baby, I’m referring to her son), I saw some of my closest friends tie the knot, and of course, Sam made me the happiest gal in the whole damn town by proposing near some sheep.
But I don’t see the end of 2018 as the end of a chapter. I don’t want to say goodbye to the things that have happened, the people I have met or the places I have seen. I want to remember every single part of the last year and the year before that and the year before that because it’s all part of who I am. Cheese!
I do however want to achieve a couple o’ goals in the near future, and it just so happens to be a new year.
If anyone cares, here are some of my goals for 2019.
Have a Facebook-Free Birthday
For the past nine years, I’ve spent my birthday waking up to a bit of social-media anxiety, liking comments all day from people I don’t ever speak to and worrying that if I don’t say ‘Thank you for the messages!’ within an hour, I’ll come across as rude.
In 2019, I’m taking my birthday back to basics.
As I’ve said before, I’m not the biggest fan of Facebook, so I’m scrapping it for a few weeks and I think January (my birthday month) is the perfect time to do so!
Do Dry January (ish)
Every year, people around me partake in Dry January, but because my birthday is on the 21st, I never join in.
This January, I’m going to give it a go and stay off the booze every day apart from one - the closest Saturday to my birthday (which will most likely end in me being carried home by several friends and Sam shaking his head).
I'm hoping to look and feel like an athlete by February.
Meet Louis Theroux
Same goal every year.
So Happy New Year, everyone! May 2019 bring you all the happiness and cheese in the world!
I'm going to leave you with a few more of my 2018 highlights.
